In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kalani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. On her blog she’ll ask a simple question for us to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Then if we would like to participate, we can do the same.
I am participating this week and my question is:
What is your favorite Christmas Carol (or what are your favorites?***) Traditional for me are O Holy Night, Silent Night, and It Came Upon A Midnight Clear. But I also like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. And …. oh there’s a lot, but I want to hear what’s yours :). If you are on Maui, 95.1 FM is playing Christmas Music all day long, and I love it!

*** After receiving a couple of comments, I remembered that not all celebrate “Christmas” but there are some celebrations they do – so please leave your favorite Holiday song or celebration song. Thank you.
Also, it does not have to be “carols” – any song, or music … aloha!
My favorite Christmas song is “So this is Christmas” I’m not sure if it is considered a carol or not.
My favorite song for the holidays is Chanukah Blessings by Barenaked Ladies. It leaves me with goosebumps. My son even loves it because of the blessing actually being in the song.
There are so many that I like.
One I really like is Silent Night.
I love them all! Just as long as I can sing to them I’m happy.
That’s a tie between O Holy Night and A Christmas Song…
It’s not purely a Christmas song but I love playing at Christmastime, Kathleen Battle’s version of “Ave Maria.”
When it comes to the traditional: “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” suffices. And my favorite modern Christmas song is “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” Mariah Carey wrote the song and originally recorded it but I prefer the version by 11 year old Olivia Olson from the movie “Love Actually.”
Aloha and Merry Christmas!
Megan
I found a new one this year by faith Hill ” A baby changes everything”
For traditional moments, I love The Holly and the Ivy, or Carol of the Bells. I’ll Be Home for Christmas is special to me, too.
