It’s Aloha Friday! My favorite day of the week. As Kailani says, here on Hawaii, we take it easy on the weekends, and we like to “talk story”. An Island Life hosts a Bloggy Carnival every Friday where we do just that. Click here for details, but most of you already know the drill. Since I am preparing to write a post on the upcoming holiday craft fairs here on Maui, my questions for today are:
Do you go to swap meet and or craft fairs? If you do, what are usually the items you buy? If you don’t, would you please share the reason why?
I use to years ago but now I don’t have the time or the space for more stuff.

I’ve been to a few, but not in quite a few years. It’s more of a time issue with me. Plus I don’t need more “stuff” in my house.

We use to. I love the hand made things and lawn decorations.

I’ve been to a few craft shows/fairs, but I seem to get those handmade, crafty goodies on Etsy these days. =)
Happy Aloha Friday!

Hey Liza,
I might be the only guy post…but I do like craft fairs too. Mainly to see things like hand made jewelry, pottery, paintings and other unique items not found anywhere else. Of course, I look forward to whatever local grinds they might be offering as well.
Blessings,
Wes

Hi Liza,
I?ll be the second guy to post. LOL Wes. As a vendor, I have been noticing that people do not just buy anymore. They look and try to find the best bargains. I guess with layoffs and furloughs, times are getting harder. From a vendor?s perspective, we try to offer more variety. We won?t reach everyone?s attention, but we try our best.
Take care,
Peter
I love to head to the fair every weekend under the Banyan tree in Lahaina. Can’t wait to to hear of the others you are going to share.
Back in CA the best was the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach. Each summer artists and crafties come together and show their goods for a couple of months, it’s awesome stuff!

I love the Maui Swap Meet over in the Maui Community College grounds every Saturday from 7:00 to 1:00. I buy tropical flowers and Maui grown fruits and vegetables. We can always find gifts for everyone there, and it is a great place to take your guests for Maui souvenirs. Thanks for the link to the upcoming holiday craft fairs in other locations.
