I have always wanted to go there, and from the look of those pictures I need to go there asap! Thanks for sharing, on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate the restaurant?

On a scale of 1 to 10, I ‘d rate it 9
Excellent Food, excellent service, excellent ambiance. But it’s pricey so that affordable for many. But then again, I guess that’s the price we pay for excellent food and service 🙂
One other comment, if a person likes A/C or is bothered by birds flying around in the window next to their table, then their ambiance won’t be excellent for them. It’s open air. I like it though.
You know as a Norwegian, I just love seafood and looking at these pics my mouth is really watering 🙂

Howzit. I just stumbled onto your site while searching for some Maui surf blogs. I had to comment since the few posts I saw have some of our favorite things to do in Maui. Mama’s, Lappert’s, Maui Ocean center, etc. We also have two hapa kids – one boy and one girl ages 9 and 11. Our Maui vacations have the 1 or 2 touristy things and splurges, like Mama’s-well worth it, but we are just as happy at Honokowai Okazuyo or Aloha Mixed Plate or fruits from the farmer’s markets or swap meet. We typically spend our time there living as much as locals as possible. Unfortunately we are not going this year, but I will definately check in every now and then to see what other activities or places we are missing.
Oh, that desert looks ono. I really have to stop reading these posts during lunch. 🙂
Mama’s came pretty highly recommend on our most recent trip. We had originally thought of stopping there on our way back from our 2nd day in Hana, but ended up at a pretty cool Paia tweetup instead.
Next trip, for sure.
