In case you were wondering what happened and why A Maui Blog was off line or a while – it was because the site was hacked. It was a bad day when I found out about it on my birthday. Thanks to the heroic help of Jeff Bennet (@digitalsplash) and Peter (@Peterliu47), my blog was rescued and saved. It was a great birthday gift from them. I was able to enjoy my birthday tweet-up without the worry of losing my blog.
I will be back in my regular posting soon. But I have to take care of some urgant tasks for now. I also have to do some blog details like restoring the blogroll, etc. In the meantime, I would like to invite you to attend our upcoming “get together” for Maui Social Media Users Group a.k.a. MauiSMUG. We will be addressing about WordPress hacks and how to avoid it. I am sure you’d hear a lot from Jeff on the tedious process of rescuing my blog, and how you can avoid that. Seriously I am even afraid to use that H word now for the fear of the H’ers coming after me again. But I am praying they won’t. So…. I encourage those of you who are on Maui and are participating in social media to come and join us. Details and registration can be found at High Tech Maui website.

Hello Liza,
This is good news. Your blog is great and this hacking issue really suck.
I wish you the best.
Let’s share the Aloha.
Denis 🙂
Glad to see you posting again Liza. You shouldn’t feel like your site was singled out by the hackers though. There’s been a rash of WordPress hacks lately even targeted at WordPress.com. And it’s looking more and more like the latest tactics they’re using is via plugins. Lots to talk about at Thursday’s SMUG event.
Wow, sorry to hear that, Liza! But glad things were worked out so promptly by Jeff and Peter. And Happy Belated B-day.
