Mothers Day on the Midst of Pandemic …. What can I say? It’s complicated but I still wish you a

Happy Mothers Day ….

… to Tutu and Kupuna, to the Grandmas in the senior centers where visitors are not allowed. I know this has been tough … and even tougher today, Mothers Day, and your kids and grandkids can’t visit and give you a hug …

… to Health Workers who are on the frontline of fighting COVID19. To the Nurse Moms, Doctor Moms, and all other essential healthcare worker moms … This pandemic has taken so much of your time and pulled you away from your kids in one way or another. You serve the community at the same time you want to protect your family. It is tough, we know…

… to Essential Moms working today … the cashiers in the grocery stores, the cooks for the To-Go Food, the Police Officer Moms, you get the idea. While your family is at home, you are working to serve the community.

… to the Teacher Moms … it’s hard enough to teach in classrooms, now you have to learn Zoom and find effective ways to teach your class online … in the midst of your kids/family at home, finding balance in chaos, doing your best in the situation, and you do it with love.

… to the Moms who lost their jobs, and worried about finances. Maybe you are a single mom. Maybe you are married and your husband lost his job as well. Bills need to get paid, and you need food for your family …

To the Single Moms, doing it all while taking care of the babies. It’s hard before the Covid19, and it is even harder now in the midst of it.  May you find time to treat yourself today with something special. Better yet, I hope someone is pampering you today.

… to the Moms of graduating students this year … I know moms are sad that their kids won’t be able to experience the usual graduation ceremonies. It’s sad for moms who want to celebrate special milestones with their kids. Hugs to you.

…  to the Moms of Grooms and Bride whose wedding is getting postponed this year due to Covid 19. I know, the delay is not fun, after all the preparations you’ve been doing …

I know times are hard .. but we moms are resilient …. I know you all have the courage, the kind of courage that only moms have … its like a mom superpower ….  Hugs to you dear Moms …

…to the Empty Nester Moms who misses their adult children, especially the newly empty nesters with freshmen college kids, first year away from home.

… to the New Moms who are needing sleep because their babies wake up many times in the middle of the night, and to the Young Moms with Young Children … oh, those where tiring days I remember but it’s also days filled with laughter and so much joy, not to mention cuteness overloads.

… to the Pet Mamas – the Dog Moms and Kitty Moms – your fur babies are glad to have you home during quarantine, aren’t they? Such a blessing to have you take care of these precious creatures. Truly a family.

… to the Foster Moms, the Adoptive Moms, the Step Moms, and the Aunt Moms … you have special kind of mother-children love. These relationships are beautiful beyond words. Sometimes it gets complicated, sometimes it gets hard, but you love anyway. You are always there for your sons and daughters.

And last but not least … Happy Mothers Day to all Moms in my life, my family, and friends who are moms. Thank you for being part of my life, thank you for your great influence in me. I apologize that this is a mass greeting .. I will connect with you individually one at a time …

And on this Mothers Day, I am thinking of

The moms who lost their child to Covid19 … or any other sickness/accidents for that matter.

The children who lost their Moms to Covid19, or any other sickness/accidents who took their life away.

The women who long to be Mamas and those who have lost an angel that made them mama …

May you find peace today amid grief and pain, may you find comfort and be surrounded with love …
